Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a world-renowned memorial site in the USA. In 1927, in the Black Hills in South Dakota, the blasting and sculpturing of stone for the four presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln began. Although it was originally planned to enlarge the figures up to their waist height the construction was completed in 1941. The monument is consistently used for the setting in film productions and can record hundreds of thousands visitors each year.
